DaisyChain 7 - Artwork by Molly, Isla and Lyra
π Illustration by Molly, aged 11 ββ

Molly says: β"It’s called ‘An ordinary day on Planet Clog’. It’s drawn with felt tip pens on paper.
ο»ΏβI started wondering what life would be like on another planet specifically one that has a thing that humans have made up… aliens! So I combined both earth and a new planet! Planet Clog is almost like a big New York, filled with shops, food and action! I imagine it being a busy chaotic place.
β
The character in the top right hand corner is currently trying to steal money to buy some alien potatoes for her pet rock, but so far all she has stolen are some chocolate coins and Monopoly money.β
β
Vog had ordered a comic from Zog and it has taken a long time to arrive. As he was so excited to finally get his comic, he didn’t pay attention to where he was parking meaning he didn’t see the no parking sign. After receiving his comic he saw a police officer placing a ticket in his spaceship window, now his day is ruined!
β
βWhen I'm drawing, I feel like I’m in a different world, a world where I can do whatever I want without a care in the world!"
π Bracelets by Isla

Isla says: "Making bracelets feels relaxing because it takes my mind off my worries, and it helps me focus on something nice and positive. It makes me feel happy as well.
I use a range of different colours and beads to make the bracelet. The colour theme I do usually happens in the moment where I think about what colours would go nice together. The textures are mainly made with clay and acrylic beads.
I usually do the bracelets a couple each day a bit at a time as I struggle myself to concentrate for ages so I do them spaced out over a period of time then I give them all to my youth club Incredible Kids to help them make extra money for the sessions and the things they need to do them."
π Crocheted octopuses by Lyra (12)

Lyra says: "Octopuses are my favourite animal! They are super cool and they can change colour depending on their mood. They are very intelligent and they can squeeze through tiny gaps because they have no bones. I love octopuses because I relate to them and they are very chill.
I learnt knitting when I was at my grandparents house and I saw my grandma knitting and she offered to teach me how. First I started knitting squares and then I started knitting things like scarves, then I knit little hand warmers and now I can knit octopuses!
My favourite place to knit is my pillow fort in my room because there is no noise around me and the setting is really calming. When I start making a knitting project it helps me regulate my emotions and the only thing I can think about is the knitting. I find that the repetition of knitting really calms me down. It can often be frustrating if I mess up when I’m knitting but I just take a deep breath and remember that it is fixable. I also sometimes text my grandma for help."
β
I designed the pattern for my octopuses myself! A knitting pattern is a set of instructions telling you how to knit a certain piece of clothing or toy. It helps because it tells you how thick or how fluffy the wool should be, how big the needles should be, and how big the creation is.
I made my knitting pattern by sewing two squares together, knitting a few tentacles and sewing it all together. I made the tentacles with a method called French knitting with something called a ‘knitting dolly’ with pegs at the top that you knit around to make a sort of hollow string."
