Neon Daisy: A magazine for kinds who think outside the box

Can you help us fund more issues?

Neon Daisy magazine is the first ever publication of its type: made for - and by - creative kids who think outside the box.

Our magazine's vision is to create a beautiful, whimsical world which invites neurodivergent young people on a journey of creativity, self-discovery and connection.

We are so grateful to the NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board - their one-off funding enabled us to create this publication in collaboration with young people, and to provide free copies to our community of families and professional partners.

Through the magazine, we've created a vibrant world which normalises diversity in ways of thinking and feeling. We also model self-exploration, self-care and healthy boundary-setting. This way, we hope to provide some gentle scaffolding to shore up our young readers' mental wellbeing and safety at an early stage.

We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some incredible neurodivergent young people to bring this edition to life; we’ve also commissioned original illustrations from a neurodiverse group of amazing adult artists. All of what’s inside is completely original and unique, and is not available online.

We're currently running a reader survey to measure the impact of the magazine on young neurodivergent readers.

Make sure there are more issues of Neon Daisy magazine!

Are you from an organisation or company who could contribute some funding so that we can publish more editions for neurodivergent young people?

Our neurodiverse editorial team, made up of children and adults, have so many ideas for future editions.

Why have we published a magazine?

This magazine is published by NeonDaisy CIC - we're a small not-for-profit community organisation based in Bristol, UK. â€‹â€‹Our vision is for neurodivergent girls and gender non-conforming young people to feel safe and well, in a world where all ways of being belong.

Neurodivergent girls are often overlooked for support because they 'look like they're doing ok'. Find out more here about the harm this causes here.

So we won't rest until they:

  • Are believed

  • Know that they are enough

  • Feel that they belong

  • Can express what they need to feel safe and well

We help this happen by:

🌼Crafting resources, like this magazine, to inspire ND young people and help them explore their identity, wants and needs, as well as transforming parents and professionals into stronger allies.

🌼Cultivating neuro-affirmative spaces, led by neurodivergent adults, where young people can enjoy their interests and connect as their true selves.

🌼Nurturing an online community of over 1,100 local families for peer support and connecting online and in real life.

Our neurodiverse community is at the heart of everything we do, and no diagnosis is needed to join our tribe. We currently work in the south west of England. We were founded in 2021.
