Mental health support

Urgent concerns:

If someone's life is at immediate risk, or you don't feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe, call 999.

There are lots of useful immediate contacts and information from the NHS here.

Local support:

  • Urgent mental health concerns: 0800 9539599 for 24/7 response line with local NHS mental health trust that covers Bristol and surrounding areas

  • For urgent mental health concerns elsewhere in the UK find your local 24/7  emergency helpline number  via the 111 website

  • Make an urgent appointment with your GP

Safeguarding concerns

If you're concerned about a young person's safety or wellbeing and they aren't at immediate risk (in which case, call 999), contact the child protection/First Response team in your local area:

If you are outside these areas, enter into your search engine: 'Report a concern about a child' + your council's name to find the safeguarding team's contact details on their website.

Other support:

Free listening services

These services offer confidential support from trained volunteers. You can talk about anything that's troubling you, no matter how difficult:

If you're under 19, you can also call 0800 1111 to talk to Childline. The number will not appear on your phone bill.
